Lipsky Art

Pattern Seeker

A Special Honor

My work was featured in the March 16, 2012 issue of the “Jewish Voice and Herald” , which serves the Jewish communities of Rhode Island and SE Massechusetts.   The article took up the majority of two pages, and included three color photographs, which is quite an honor.  Nancy Abeshaus, who wrote the article, did an excellent job – she listened to me babble, and was able to sort through all the information to find the salient points, and present everything accurately and in a very complimentary way – how refreshing!  Nancy Kirsch, the editor,  was also full of praise for my work, and allowed the generous article.  I am very pleased!  Here is the link to the article   It only has one picture; there was also a picture of me, and a picture of my “Who Knows One”, which you can see on this website under “Current” .

Happy Passover to all!

Condolence Cards

In keeping with the mitzvah of “comforting the mourners”, I am providing single cards free upon request.  That way, we both fulfill the mitzvah. Designs will vary, but you may specify whether you need something suitable for a male or a female.  However, if you wish to “stock up”, the usual fee of 4 for $16 applies, with complementary shipping.

These cards feature an origami Mogen David or two in a variety of designs and colors, and are blank inside. They are all  4 x 5 1/2 , and each comes with a color coordinated envelope.  Available colors and designs will vary, as I rarely make more than a handful that are identical.  You can order them on the “Novelties” page

My new website is launched!

Welcome to my new website!

It has an artist’s statement!

It has this blog!

You can buy stuff!

And you can send me your comments!

The site is designed and maintained by my husband, Ed Haskell, using WordPress open code.  Now I can add many more pictures of my work in different areas of the decorative arts, and I can write about how some pieces came into being, and the materials or techniques used.

You can send me a message directly via the boxes at the bottom of the “Artist’s Life” page.  Let me know what you think of this website, of my artwork, and how you are doing.  If you would like to be on my email list, please sign up there, because I occasionally send out emails about special events.  (I am also happy to send real US mail if requested.)

Check back often to see my newest work, upcoming shows, and important events.

Thanks for visiting!

Naomi Lipsky Teaching Pomegranates

From November 6 -8, 2011, I attended the National Conference of the Pomegranate Guild of Judaic Needlework (http://www.pomegranateguild.org) in Westborough, MA.  It was wonderful to see my old friends and meet new ones. I taught two classes, showing a total of 19 students how to quill and follow a pattern.  Here is the first group working hard (look at the profusion of papers on the table!) and showing off their finished products:

Naomi Lipsky Artist of the Month

Artist of the Month

This October, I was the “Artist of the Month” at the Sandel Senior Center in Rockville Centre, NY.  I gave a talk on my work and everyone was very interested.  It is a very nice location and they have many activities going on.  Here is a picture Ed took.
