I made this just to see if I could find flowers starting with each letter of the alphabet, and translate them into quilling.  I had it displayed in the co-op gallery I belonged to in Minnesota, and by an amazing coincidence, it was bought by an old customer from Baltimore, who was visiting and recognized my work.  It is about 20 x 20.

A hamsa is a good luck charm in many cultures.  Here, the Hebrew words say “Mazel tov”, meaning “good luck”, or literally, “a good star”.  The design is made from quilling and ink. It is 5 x 7.

This picture is meant to be a “mizrach” – a marker for the Eastern wall of a house, denoting the direction of Jerusalem.  This bears the verse from Psalms “From the rising of the sun until its setting, I will praise the name of the Lord.”, which is a traditional text for a mizrach.  the design is made from strips of quilling paper woven together, with a 23k gold sun and accents. 8 x 10

This peaceful image was inspired by the blue and silver paper and the frame that I had.  It involved some fancy mat cutting.  The dove is aluminum leaf on paper, and the Hebrew word “shalom”,  meaning “peace”, is quilled.  It is 5×5.
