Description
Weeping May Linger for the Night, But in the Morning There is Joy
Psalm 30:6 in memory of Dr. James J. Lipsky
Limited edition lithograph of original collage
Psalm 30 is a song of thanksgiving from the soul of a gifted poet. This verse captures the sense of emergence from despair into light and rejoicing. It reassures us that time will bring healing from even the deepest sorrow.
The printing process for this lithograph was extremely exacting. After background was reproduced by means of offset lithography on archival paper, it was run through the press again and the letters were stamped with gold foil. It was run through a third time and the letters were embossed with a custom-made die. The registration has to be perfect.
This process was limited to an exclusive edition of 500 prints, each one numbered and signed by the artist. Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, also numbered and signed, and on archival paper.
The original version of this consisted of quilled, gilt-edged letters on a collaged background, and it is in the collection of The Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.
The framed print is double matted, with an inner gold foil mat and the outer of white linen, both are acid-free. The frame is gold. If listed as “back order”, please allow 3 weeks for delivery.
