Description
A mizrach hangs on the Eastern wall, to denote the direction of Jerusalem, for those west of it. This is a “mini-mizrach”, because it is only 5″ x 7″. It is made with cut papers and 23K gold leaf, in a gold-toned wooden frame. The Hebrew word “mizrach” is raised gold, and the other accents are surface gilded. The two mats were hand- covered in Japanese paper. It was fun to put together!
