Description
A hamsa is a good luck charm, used to keep away evil spirits. It is common to many cultures. This one is all in blue, and has multiple layers of quilling paper – both 1/8″ and 1/16″. There are also elements edged with 23K gold leaf. At the base of the hamsa, it has the Hebrew word “Mazel”, which means “luck”. The side view shows the dimensionality of this piece.
The hamsa is surrounded by an oval mat covered with marbleized paper, and a lovely deep blue frame. The final size is about 11″ x 13″.
