I made these shades for the dining room bay window. The cord can be fastened in three positions – half open (as shown), three-quarters open,  or all the way down.  While making them, I asked one of the experts at the Rowley Company  for technical advice.  When I finished the project, I sent her this picture in appreciation.  She replied that they would like permission to post it on their website, and I enthusiastically agreed to the honor.  It has since been replaced with other work, but I had my 15 minutes of drapery fame!

Window Seat

There was an empty space under the window, between the wall and the wardrobe, so we put in a cabinet from IKEA and voila! a window seat.  I made the box cushion for the seat and also made the pillows.

Canopy

This canopy is on a queen-size bed frame.  It is lined and the back is pleated.  The beaded tasseled trim was found on a trip to the NY garment district.   I also made the neck roll pillows and rear shams  from a coordinating fabric.  The white matelassé coverlet and shams are purchased.

Chair Slipcover
This is a slipcover I made after taking a wonderful class with Karen Erickson, at the Worcester Sewing and Quilting Expo.  It was probably beginner’s luck that it turned out so well.  It is very fitted, with snap tape down the side.  The seat cushion is actually not removable,  but I made it to look like a faux box cushion. The rich, tasseled trim was the best part!

This is the chuppah I made when Ed and I married.  It has the Hebrew words “The voice of joy, the voice of gladness”.  I chose the white fabric because it is translucent, and let the light through.  The green border matched my gown!

Wall Hanging

This wall hanging started with a piece of Battenburg lace fabric.  I appliqued everything with press-on adhesive, and backed it all with a green cotton.  It says “Baruch Haba – Welcome Visitor” and hangs on the outside of our sukkah every year.
