Description
“It shall be unto you for a fringe”. This phrase from Numbers is in the third paragraph of the Shema, and is the basis for the custom of wearing tzizis. This picture is made of quilling with 23k gold accents. The paper strips were individually crimped, then the stripes were hand painted. The “atarah” was shaped with gilt-edged paper strips. The Hebrew letters are quilled, and the English is blue ink. The background is pale blue Unryu paper. The inner mat is covered with paper hand-marbleized by the artist, and the outer mat is a deep blue suede.
The frame is silver-toned wood (not shown). 13 x 16. Shipping is free.
