Description
When Moses was called by the Burning Bush, he answered “Hineni (here I am)”. When the Reader stands before the Ark to serve as a messenger for the congregation on Rosh Hashonah, he humbly begins “Hineni”. This word is illustrated here as a prism, transforming pure white light into visible colors. Saying “Hineni”, we, too, become agents for transformation.
The printing process for this lithograph was extremely exacting. After background was reproduced by means of offset lithography on archival paper, it was run through the press again and the letters were stamped with gold foil. It was run through a third time and the letters were embossed with a custom-made die. The registration has to be perfect.
This process was limited to an exclusive edition of 500 prints, each one numbered and signed by the artist. Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, also numbered and signed, and on archival paper.
The framed version has a slightly patterned deep blue, acid free mat, with a black wooden frame with a faux gold leaf inner edge. (see detail).
The print is $54 (triple “Chai”) and $12 shipping, the framed picture is $185 plus $30 shipping.
